Upon use, opens up an interface that allows Isaac to select from 3 options 3 times. The selected options transform this item into a new book with the selected effects.

1st options (Charges):
• My Manual: 1 charge.
• My Guide: 3 charges.
• My History: 6 charges.

2nd options (On use effects):
• Incantation: increases damage multiplier in the current room.
• Praying: Grants hearts.
• Collection: Spawns pickups.
• Forbidden: Deals damage that pierces enemy armor.
• Protection: Grants a temporary shield.
• Familiars: Spawns familiars from Cambion Conception in the current room.
• Exploration: Activates the effects of a die.

3rd options (Passive effects):
• Goodwilled: +10% angel room chance.
• Wise: Removes Curse of the Unknown!, Curse of the Blind! and Curse of the Lost!.
• Precise: Grants the effects of The Compass.
• Mean: +2 flat damage.
• Clear: +0.15 speed.
• Selfless: +1 charge after taking damage.
• Innovative: Spawns wisps upon use.
This item contributes towards the Bookworm transformation. Collecting 3 items from this set will make Isaac fire an extra tear 25% of the time.
